About the EPUB reader
An EPUB file is a ZIP package that holds a book's text, styling and images in open XML formats. This reader unpacks that package directly in your browser: it reads the OPF package document, resolves the reading order from the spine, builds a table of contents from the EPUB3 nav or the EPUB2 NCX, and inlines every style sheet and image into a single, self-contained page. Each chapter is then rendered in a fully sandboxed frame - book scripts, forms and embedded objects are stripped out, so even a strange or damaged book can never run code on your machine. Because everything happens locally, you can read private documents such as manuscripts, drafts or textbooks with complete confidence that they never leave your device.
How to read an EPUB
Reading a book takes a moment and needs no account. Here is how.
Choose your file
Click the drop area or drag an .epub file onto it. The book is opened and read locally - it is not uploaded anywhere.
Jump to a chapter
Use the Contents button to open the chapter list, or press previous / next to move through the reading order.
Make it comfortable
Use the plus and minus buttons to resize the text and cycle the theme between light, sepia and dark. Your changes apply instantly.
Please note
This reader is designed for standard EPUB files. Very unusual books - for example those built around fixed-layout pages, embedded fonts or custom scripts - may look different from how their authors intended, because book scripts are deliberately not executed. Copy-protected (DRM) EPUBs cannot be read here. The reader keeps your place for the current session only; closing the page starts you at chapter one again.
