About DWG to image conversion
DWG is AutoCAD's native binary drawing format — rich with layers, blocks, and precise geometry, but locked inside desktop CAD software. Turning a DWG into a plain PNG or JPG image makes it instantly usable: embed it in reports, slide decks, web pages, or issue sheets; share it with clients who don't have CAD; or archive a visual snapshot of the design. This tool runs the whole conversion locally in your browser: a WebAssembly engine reads the DWG, the geometry is rebuilt, and the drawing is rendered to a raster image on an offscreen canvas at the resolution you choose. Because nothing is uploaded, even sensitive architectural or engineering drawings stay on your machine. Things to keep in mind
A handful of newer DWG versions (notably AC1024/AC1027 — AutoCAD 2010/2013) can only be partially read by the conversion engine. If your drawing uses one of these versions the job is marked incomplete with an honest warning instead of shipping a broken image — save a copy as R2000 (AC1015) and convert that instead. Higher DPI produces larger images: a 600 DPI export is roughly six times the pixels of a 200 DPI one, which is fine on screen but heavier to store. Images render on a white background with the drawing fitted and centered on an A4-shaped page.
