About DXF to image conversion
DXF is Autodesk's open ASCII interchange format for CAD drawings — the plain-text cousin of the binary DWG. Because it is text, a DXF can be read directly and rendered to a raster image right in the browser, with no conversion engine or server round-trip. This tool parses the drawing, rebuilds the geometry, and paints it onto an offscreen canvas at the resolution you choose, producing a clean image of exactly what is in the drawing. Things to keep in mind
Only ASCII (text) DXF files are parsed directly. Binary-encoded DXF files and files with unsupported extensions are rejected with an honest message rather than producing a broken image. Higher DPI produces larger images: a 600 DPI export is roughly six times the pixels of a 200 DPI one, which is fine on screen but heavier to store. Images render on a white background with the drawing fitted and centered on an A4-shaped page.
