What Is Flattening a PDF?
Flattening a PDF removes the interactivity of fillable form fields while keeping the filled-in values visible on the page. After flattening, the field values behave like ordinary printed text: they cannot be typed over, edited, or removed. This is useful for locking in a signed or completed form, preventing accidental changes, and ensuring the document renders the same in every viewer. Only the form interactivity is removed — the page content, quality, and layout are preserved unchanged.

Good to Know
