What Is PDF Linearization?
Linearization, also called Fast Web View, is a way of organizing a PDF file so it can be read incrementally over a network. In a normal PDF, the viewer often needs large parts of the file before it can display even the first page. A linearized PDF stores the objects in a web-optimized order and includes a hint table, so the first page can be shown almost immediately while the rest of the file streams in the background. This is especially valuable for large documents hosted on websites, intranets, or document management systems, where it significantly improves the perceived loading speed. This tool produces a genuine linearized file using the qpdf engine, entirely in your browser.
