About splitting Excel files
Splitting a large workbook is the natural complement to merging one — breaking one file into many so it can be shared, imported, or processed in pieces. Notes
Files of any size are processed locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Split by sheets copies the original worksheet, so formulas, styles, merged cells, and column widths survive exactly. Split by rows and into N parts re-encode cells as plain rows, so values are kept but per-cell formatting is not carried over. In rows and parts modes the first row of every sheet is treated as the header and repeated in each part. A file is only split when it actually can be — more than one sheet in sheets mode, more than one data row in the other two — otherwise you'll see a clear message instead of a useless single file. Each file is limited to 200 parts to keep your browser responsive.
