What Is Posterizing a PDF?
Posterizing a PDF splits each page into a grid of smaller tiles, one tile per output page. Each tile is scaled to fit the chosen paper size with an optional overlap so the printed sheets can be aligned and assembled into one large image. This is the standard way to print a poster, banner, map, or large diagram on a regular home or office printer. The source content is cropped and scaled but never re-rendered, so vector text and graphics stay sharp across the finished poster.

Good to Know
Encrypted PDFs cannot be processed and must be decrypted first. Print every output page at 100% scale with no scaling or 'fit to page' enabled, or the tiles will not line up. Overlap helps when trimming and gluing sheets together. Larger grids mean more pages — a 10×10 grid produces 100 tiles per source page. Some printers cannot print to the very edge of the paper, so account for printer margins when assembling.
