A watermark is text or an image placed over a PDF's pages, usually at low opacity so it does not interfere with reading. Common uses include marking drafts as CONFIDENTIAL, branding documents with a company logo, claiming copyright, and discouraging unauthorized redistribution. Watermarks can be placed diagonally across the page, centered, or in a corner, and repeated in a grid pattern to cover the whole page. Text watermarks are fully vector-based, so they stay crisp and selectable; image watermarks let you use your own logo or stamp.
Adding a watermark takes just a few steps. Everything runs in your browser.

Type your watermark text, or upload a PNG or JPG image such as a logo.
Set the color, opacity, rotation, position, and whether to tile it. Check the live preview.
Pick the pages to watermark, click Add Watermark, and download the result.
Encrypted PDFs must be decrypted before watermarking. Text watermarks are vector content, so they stay sharp at any zoom and remain selectable. Low opacity (around 30%) keeps the document readable while still visible. For best results on a diagonal watermark, use a rotation of around -45 degrees. Tiling repeats the watermark across the whole page; custom page ranges use the format 1-5, 8, 10-15.
